HP claims the acquisition of Fortify will help the company address application security from development through to operations.
The acquisition will enable a comprehensive security capability for securing mission-critical applications in heterogeneous environments, the company said.
Fortify will initially run as a standalone company and eventually become part of HP's business optimization application portfolio.
HP said plans for product integration will be announced in greater detail at a later date.
