Czech banking company, Komercní banka, overcame competition from finalists, EuroChem and JD Williams to claim the award.
Gartner research director, Neil Chandler said; “The quality of submissions this year was very high. Komercní banka stood out because it demonstrated in very clear terms how it was able to use technology for quantifiable business benefits”
More than 24 organisations applied to be put forward for the Gartner award from a wide range of industry sectors including; financial services, manufacturing, hi-tech and telecommunications.
The benchmark for the award was BI (business intelligence) and performance management (PM) framework. Seven hundred delegates selected the winner based on the way the companies have embraced the framework.
Chandler said; “Komercní banka showed that BI is not a one time investment but that transformation happened over several years.”
Czech representative of Gartner, Oldrich Príklenk, praised the company’s work; "Komercní banka's success provides further evidence that business intelligence projects implemented in the Czech Republic feature a world-class standard and meet the most stringent criteria".
