MacAuley-Brown gets multimillion dollar USAF cybersecurity contract

Under the terms of the Guardian contract, MacB will provide technical support to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) and other Air Force law enforcement and counter-intelligence organizations by designing and constructing cybersecurity capabilities.

In addition, MacB will assist Air Force Network Defenders and AFOSI Computer Crime Investigators with the detection, containment, collection, analysis, and reverse engineering of malicious logic.

The contract is being awarded by the 90th Information Operations Squadron (IOS), which is in charge of providing tools and capabilities needed to defend the USAF’s communication networks.

Located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, the 90th IOS provides network router security and operational platform tool development, malware harvesting, analysis and repurposing; it develops network modeling and simulation for joint and USAF cyber exercises, developmental test, operational assessment and innovative concept exploration.

“The 90th IOS represents the tip of the spear when it comes to defending the Air Force’s communication networks. Our senior scientists and engineers are looking forward to partnering with the Air Force to increase the nation’s cyber capabilities that will ensure critical networks are available in a crisis”, said William Pratt, senior vice president of MacB’s Information Dominance Division.
