Speaking with Infosecurity at the Infosecurity Show in London last week, Franklyn Jones, the firm's director of corporate and field marketing, said that his company now has a country manager in Leeds, and is busy establishing a sales channel presence.
The next-generation firewall security vendor says it was the first in the industry to offer data leak prevention facilities in the firewall last December, and is offering this feature free of charge to its customers.
The current recession, says Jones, is causing many companies to look at how their IT security defences stack up in terms of value for money and, as a result, firms are updating and/or revamping their IT security firewall systems.
"Our technology offers a number of innovations that you won't see in those of the competition. This includes data leak prevention, as well as advanced wireless security features," he says.
"Last November we obtained an additional $10 million in venture capital funding and we are using this additional capital to expand our operations into the UK," he told Infosecurity.
The extra capital, he added, pushes the total investment in Palo Alto Networks, which was founded by IT security guru Nir Zuk, to $64 million.
According to Jones, the firm's firewall technologies now have the capability to handle network traffic up to 10 Gbps with no performance degradation.
