Renowned security experts talk CNI and cyber war at upcoming Virtual Conference

The session for the highly anticipated June 2 event, titled “Preparing for Cyber War: Protecting the CNI”, includes (ISC)2 executive director W. Hord Tipton – also the former CIO of the US Dept. of Interior – in addition to Ed Amoroso, senior VP and chief security officer for AT&T. The panel, moderated by Infosecurity’s Drew Amorosi, will examine the myths and realities behind the idea of cyberwar and what organizations are actively doing – or not – to protect critical national infrastructure from cyber-based attacks.

Tipton will tap his experience as a former federal CIO, as well as his current role with the non-profit educational body (ISC)2, to provide listeners with a comprehensive rundown of the steps federal agencies, working with their private-sector partners, are taking to secure CNI from cyber attack. He will also discuss areas where the federal government here in the US is falling short in providing an adequate cyber defense.

Ed Amoroso will then provide us with his 10 simple principles to help reduce the likelihood of infrastructure attack, gleaned from his experience at one of America’s largest telecommunications providers. The principles were outlined in his recently published book, Cyber Attacks: Protecting Critical National Infrastructure, so you won’t want to miss what promises to be, according to Amoroso, an entertaining take on a most serious topic.

The Infosecurity Global Virtual Conference will run throughout the day on June 2, with members of (ISC)2 eligible for CPE credits for attending. So register now for this free event and save the date.
