Wisegate launches micro-community for privacy and compliance professionals

Wisegate’s privacy and compliance microcommunity enables information security professionals to share insights on the following areas: keeping up with the changing government and industry-specific compliance requirements; assessing the impact of new legislation or changes to legal precedent; interpreting compliance requirements and applying appropriate risk controls in emerging areas, like cloud computing, social networking, and the consumerization of IT; and overcoming internal bureaucracy and drive consensus among cross-functional departments to ensure broad adoption of compliance programs.

"As senior privacy professionals, our companies count on us to navigate the complex web of regulations, cross-border data privacy requirements and evolving compliance risks, like the use of social networks in the workplace,” said Hope Scott, global chief privacy officer at CIGNA. “Through Wisegate’s new microcommunity, we can discuss compliance strategies, share privacy program best practices, and keep track of industry trends."

Kristen Knight, senior privacy officer for Phillips Electronics North America, commented: "Wisegate’s new privacy and compliance community is the ‘always on’ resource that enables me to tap the collective wisdom of my peers who can share insights on the most pressing issues I need to address in my role. For example, it was the practical advice I received from the Wisegate community that recently helped me evaluate the many challenges and shape my approach to a data loss prevention program for my company.”
