Cat Contillo (she/her/they/them) brings humor, passion, and awkwardness into everything she does. Cat is proud to be queer and autistic. During her free time, she is happiest spending time with her wife and two cats. When she was diagnosed autistic, it changed her whole life and gave her an understanding of how she is wired differently. This also gave her a life purpose to educate and advocate for neurodiversity. It wasn’t until Cat got her first job where she was able to take her passions about speaking on LGBTQ+ rights, neurodiversity, autism, and chronic/invisible illnesses into the cybersecurity industry. This created a whole focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging to the forefront of cybersecurity-- Cat’s main topics of speaking have been in neurodiversity in cybersecurity.
Cat is a Threat Operations Analyst II at Huntress. As part of the Threat Operations team at Huntress, Cat is part of a group of analysts who are the human element in finding hidden threats from hackers that attempt to sneak past antivirus detection. Cat thrives on the repetitious part of the job, the structure and finding patterns in malware for quicker detection during an investigation. Being a threat analyst is also monitoring, analyzing, and gathering as much useful information to nip the bad hackers before they can do further damage.
