Mr. Britt is the co-founder and CEO of Startfield, a national non-profit organization that provides career exploration, mentoring, and training opportunities for K-12 students and early career professionals from underrepresented communities in cybersecurity.
Charles has over 20 years of IT, cybersecurity, and technical training experience across government, academic, and private sector organizations. He currently leads the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance team at Fairfax County Public Schools (VA), the 12th largest K-12 public school system in the United States. Prior to joining the K-12 education space, he served as a Cybersecurity Compliance Officer with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and began his professional career in 2001 with the Central Intelligence Agency supporting several high-profile projects as an IT specialist, information systems security officer, and project manager.
Charles is also dynamic speaker, career coach and trainer having developed specialized curriculum and delivered more than one thousand hours of instruction in IT and cybersecurity fundamentals, enterprise risk management, and career development for emerging technology professionals.
Mr. Britt has a B.S. in Information Technology and holds the designation of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) with ISSA and ISACA respectively.
