Dave Rowell is a Senior Manager in PwC’s Cyber Threat Detection & Response team. He has a broad technical cyber security background spanning 15+ years, with extensive experience in host and network threat detection, incident response, forensics and penetration testing.
Prior to joining PwC, Dave was a technical account manager at Carbon Black Inc, where he advised incident response and MSSP partners across EMEA in the use of the company’s EDR products. This included training teams in use of the tools for threat hunting, incident response and compromise assessment, as well as assisting in the design and implementation of managed threat detection services. In addition, Dave also carried out threat research and security evangelism work for the company.
Prior to this, Dave was the lead in-house cyber security specialist for Scotland’s first billion dollar internet company, Skyscanner. Here he oversaw an expansive cyber security improvement programme, spanning 9 international offices, and 5 global data centres serving over 40 million unique visitors per month.
Dave has also spent over 8 years providing managed SOC & intrusion analysis services to hundreds of worldwide clients across a wide range of industry verticals.
