Komal started her cybersecurity journey when she was studying Engineering at De Montfort University. Here she learned about basic coding through one of the modules and loved it! After enrolling in computer science and security courses, she graduated with a BSc in Computer Security. Komal has been an intern at Nettitude and has also worked at National Grid as a Test Analyst and an Assistant Manager in the penetration testing team.
At present, she is a Cyber Security Analyst at e2e-assure. Her role involves working 12-hour shifts (4 days on 4 days off) and she is currently studying the CISSP certification so that she can move to a Consultancy role. Outside of work, she writes technical blogs on Medium. She is also a STEM Ambassador at STEM Learning UK which has involved judging a competition, running a workshop (Poacher event 2022), and mentoring at a code club. She is now looking to run her own coding for kids’ sessions and is currently in the process of spreading the word.
