I help businesses and individuals understand the complexities of technology, and its intersection with cybercrime.
Researcher, futurist, storyteller, writer, filmmaker and presenter, I am the Vice President of Security Research at Forescout. My research into the murky world of cybercrime and the cloudy future of technology sees me advise law enforcement, governments and enterprises alike. I am a long-standing Special Advisor to Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre (EC3), a multi-award-winning video producer and writer, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and board advisor. In April 2011 I was grateful to be inducted into the Infosecurity Hall of Fame.
I am actively engaged in research into online threats and the cybercriminal underground. I also investigate the wider implications of new developments in technology, and their potential impact on security, both for the enterprise and for society, publishing papers, articles, videos and speaking at conferences including RSA, Mobile World Congress, Milken Institute, Virus Bulletin, RUSI and the e-Crime Congress.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Wales and have qualified as a Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP).
