Sam Watling

Sam has spent much of his career establishing and driving governance of IT service providers. He has worked for a variety of European blue-chip organisations within retail and travel, across a broad range of roles – development; consulting; service, supplier, risk management and information security. Sam heads up the Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team at TUI where his team of Information Security Officers and Managers is responsible for defining what ‘the correct level of security’ is for TUI. The team leads the security programme within each of TUI’s technology domains and looks after the company’s group-wide assurance programmes, partnering with senior business stakeholders to ensure security risks and controls are understood.
