Welcome to the fourth annual State of Cybersecurity Report brought to you by Infosecurity Europe and Infosecurity Magazine. Building on the success of our previous industry reports (released in 2019 and 2020), the findings of this year’s report are based on feedback from 67 security professionals, collected through a variety of online surveys and in-depth virtual interviews conducted by the Infosecurity Group.
This research presents and outlines the most influential security trends affecting the industry as a whole in 2022 based on our research and represents a significant departure from previous reports where the core trends remained largely static.
This year’s study finds an industry in turmoil, rocked by a string of events since late 2020. These range from the SolarWinds supply chain compromise through to the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack, the show-stopping Log4Shell exploit, and now concerns over the potential fallout from the Ukraine conflict. It is also grappling with long-term changes in working practice as we navigate the stressful transition from pandemic to endemic.
